Let’s talk leggings.
Can’t decide if you want to buy the new Gymshark Sleek Aspire Leggings? Below, I cover how they look, feel, fit, and performance, along with some pros and cons, so you can decide if these leggings are a good match for you before hitting that checkout button.
I’m quite fussy when it comes to finding the right pair of gym leggings, I have a few set criteria:
– Comfy without making me too hot.
– A good fit.
– Make me feel confident.
I have to say, these leggings tick all of those boxes.
I usually wear shorts to the gym, but when I saw Gymshark were releasing a new style of legging I couldn’t resist and had to get a pair of the Sleek Aspire leggings!
These leggings have a design which is becoming popular amongst a lot of gym wear – mesh panelling. The panelling is almost all the way down both legs, with another panel on the calf and I have to say, I am in love with it.
There’s a great feature that I haven’t yet seen on any other pair of Gymshark leggings – pockets on the side. They’re the perfect size for your phone – I always struggle with where to leave it whilst I’m at the gym but with these I don’t have to. The pocket is perfectly positioned so that when my phone is in there it doesn’t obstruct any of my lifting.
The material of these leggings is the one thing I can’t get over. It’s 81% nylon, 19% elastane and is so soft and comfortable, unlike any other leggings I’ve had previously.
The high-rise waist of these means the fit is great. It’s really complimentary, hides what it needs to (you know what I mean) and doesn’t give you the dreaded camel toe!
I’m around 5 foot 10 inches tall, between 32 and 34 inch leg, so I always struggle to find leggings that don’t end up way too short. But these are the ideal length. They are the full version rather than the cropped and finish below my ankle so I don’t feel huge wearing them!
I usually wear a UK size 10-12 in trousers and went for a large in these. I found that the medium was a bit too tight around my bum and they went a bit see-through when I squat!
I’ve done a number of leg day workouts in these and there is no problem with them at all. The material is lasting well and is thick enough that you don’t have to worry what underwear you have on underneath – No VPL over hereee!
Overall I’d rate these leggings 9/10.
